Following a quiet week in our previous jackpot report, we have some good news in this one. The WowPot from Microgaming has once again paid out. After paying £10.9m not more than a couple of weeks ago, Microgaming’s £2 million seeded WowPot has again gone but this time to the tune of £5,757,783.
That win came last Friday after our last report. That was the 12th of August, which, ironically, was my birthday. Unfortunately, I was not the winner, although it would have been the ideal birthday present! Still, at least somebody somewhere became an instant millionaire from a single spin on one of Microgaming’s progressive jackpot slots.
That makes it the fifth WowPot Mega jackpot win since the progressive jackpot network first launched in February 2020. It is also one of the smallest of them, although the winner is unlikely to complain too much. The biggest win from this network was £15,183,085 back in April 2021.
With 5 jackpot wins now recorded from this network, there is a good sample to look at some of the core statistics and compare them with other jackpots. Currently, the WowPot has the highest average jackpot win of £8,217,278, which just edges it over the £8,147,443 of Microgaming’s other progressive network, the Mega Moolah. We would expect the WowPot to continue in that vein considering Microgaming seeds the WowPot with double the amount of the Mega Moolah.
Where the Mega Moolah stands out is via paying out every 48 days on average compared to the WowPot’s every 121 days. Essentially, both are fantastic progressive jackpots, but it is interesting seeing how they compare.
Fact: Did you know that Microgaming had progressive jackpots even before the Mega Moolah and WowPot? In fact, the standalone jackpots of titles such as Major Millions and King Cashalot are still going strong today.
The Current Status of the Major Progressive Jackpots
Jackpot Giant from Playtech finds itself as the largest once again, with a current jackpot of €6,638,442 waiting to be won. It has been a long wait for that one with more than 1,000 days elapsing since it last paid. Hall of Gods from NetEnt is approaching the €4 million mark while the Mega Moolah is creeping up to £3 million.
Some of the smaller jackpots like the King Cashalot, Gladiator, and MegaJackpots all get a ‘Yes’ from our table at the end of this article. Two NetEnt jackpots have received a ‘Maybe’ while the rest we consider as best left for now. They could payout but you’re probably better off playing some of the others instead.
